Today is the first Friday of the Oak Park Creative Writing Workshops for tweens.
We will be discussing our writing styles (poetry, fiction, fantasy, non-fiction) with each other and then the tweens will be participating in an Inspirational activity dealing with paintings and post-its : )
They will then write their own piece(s) incorporating this inspirational activity.
As we continue on with our next classes, the tweens will continue to write new pieces every time and share/post their writings.
In the end, I hope that they will have compiled enough writing to share with an audience during the reception which will be held at the Central Resource Library from 2-4 on July 18th.

- i'm a writer--poetry mostly. i have a BA in Language Literature & Writing with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Kansas. currently, i am a graduate student in Library and Information Science at Emporia State University. i plan and implement creative programming for young adults in a public library & I do a bit of the same thing but more as an outreach source to the surrounding community and to the pediatrics wing of a hospital~via or on behalf of a practicum/ independent study at an urban medical library.
